She’s a mother of two girls Nevaeh (Age 3) & Eden (Age 2), a gym owner, international fitness trainer, author and creator of No.1 Busy Mum Program
The Busy Mum Program is her passion, empowering women to become the best that they can be.
What has inspired you to create an online fitness program for mums?
It was through my own personal experience of having two kids in two years – as it was very challenging. I found that my training, nutrition and life was, of course, so different compared to before kids. This inspired me to create a program geared at busy women like myself to not only give them a training and nutrition system that could work around family life but support them through it.
How do you motivate yourself to keep fit? Give us a little sneak peek into your routine.
I motivate myself through my children, I want to be around as long as possible and to do that, I do my best to live a life of ultimate health.
3 to 4 days a week I train with a mixture of HIIT and weight training.
On 4 days, walking at the beach, more so just to relax rather then cardio.
Can you share with us your top three getting and staying fit tips for mums on the go?
1. Keep all the processed foods and naughty snacks out the house, if it’s not there you won’t reach for them
2. Stay hydrated everyday, drink 2-3L
3.Exercise when you can, even if it’s 10 minutes. Prioritise using HIIT training over cardio as you’ll burn more fat
What is the biggest misconception about losing weight?
That it will happen over night or in 7 days. So many women reach out for quick fixes, shakes, magic pills potions and not realise that it will only be short lived, not to mention the impact on the metabolism and hormone damage. If it sounds to good to be true, it will be. Look for a lifestyle approach, one that fits into your schedule and is enjoyable.
What is one piece of fitness equipment you would recommend for mums to have?
I think a workout band or a kettlebell at home. A band can form resistance on all parts of the body, I use one regularly when I cant hit the gym.
