So did any of you give anything up for Lent? I did, it was sweets and chocolate for me, and for someone who has a massive sweet tooth I found this surprisingly easy this year. I didn’t crave sweets or choc for any of the 40 days.
I tend to partake in this for myself, to give up something I enjoy and give my body a break from it. When Easter Weekend rolls around I think I’m going to devour every piece of chocolate put in front of me, but again, surprisingly I haven’t eaten either of my eggs…yet! This past weekend I was away in Cornwall and just ate copious amounts of savoury snacks instead and drank plenty of the local cider. I now feel like I need to detox and quickly get back on the clean eating train ASAP.
Going on holiday or a little weekend break, and indulging in the local delicacy, a little too much, can lead to a little weight gain. It happens and we shouldn’t feel guilty about it. Who would turn down freshly pressed red wine and freshly made pizza from the pizza oven whilst at a Tuscan vineyard….not me. Whilst being a tourist around beautiful cities or worshiping the sun and sipping on frozen strawberry margaritas, the last thing you are thinking about is hitting the nearest gym.
Of course yoga and meditation getaways have been on the block for sometime, but this year’s ‘thing’ is ‘fitcations’. Fitness inspired vacations!!
With beach styled boot camps, surfing, paddle boarding, biking and mountain hiking, there is plenty to choose from without sabotaging your bikini bod.
To help burst through the Easter Weekend blowout we have found some awesome fitcation destinations for this weeks #WishlistWednesday.
